PRIVACY

Some thoughts on privacy…

IMPORTANT NOTEThis Privacy Policy pertains to this website only and how we collect information from all visitors of this website, and does not apply to the Protected Health Information (PHI) of our patients. PHI and the privacy of our patients is covered by a separate agreement and consent form—the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Informed Consent to Treatment policy, which patients receive from Behavioral Medicine Associates, LLC a the time individuals become patients of the practice

With regard to this website, Behavioral Medicine Associates, LLC (BMA) views confidentiality and privacy as of paramount importance. We cannot emphasize this enough. No one likes to get unsolicited mail or phone calls. We’re no different—and, we’re disgusted and irritated by spam as much as you. So, here’s our website Privacy Policy for all visitors of this website, in simple language. Remember:  This is for our website only.

We will never, ever share your personal name or information with anyone—not to any individual, nor to any organization—without your explicit permission. Period...It’s that simple.

We want you to know that we do not sell, rent or share our database of visitors to this website. If you contact BMA for information (either as a visitor, healthcare provider, vendor, insurance company, prospective patient, or actual patient, etc.), we will provide it to you by phone or email. We may also ask you at that time if we may add your name and contact information to our database to either: (1) keep you updated on upcoming events (workshops, seminars, etc.); (2) to receive newsletters or special offers; (3) or if we have any questions for you in relation to information you requested; (4) to notify you of any changes to our privacy policy if you are a Visitor and have requested that we include you on our mailing list. You are free to opt out of any subscriptions at any time. Simply click on the link in the email you receive or contact us at any time via email or phone.

At BMA, you’ll discover that we’re straight-forward, respectful of your privacy and confidentiality with regards to how we use information collected on this website.

With all this said however, our legal advisors have strongly advised us to insert the following “legalize” into this privacy policy. We apologize. We’ve tried to even out the jargon so it’s easier to read. Below is the legal document governing your use of this website. Go get a cup of java, sit back, and read on….
